About This Role

1. Main Purpose


To support the Practice Director and Office Manager in the provision of accountancy and financial services to the firm by providing competent, efficient and accurate assistance.



2. Lines of Responsibility


Job holder is accountable to : Practice Director

Job holder manages : N/A


3. Key Responsibilities

To include, but not limited to:

 

· Processing of daily receipts and payments through the bank

· Processing of cheques and cash and preparing for banking

· Dealing with clients when receiving payment by cash, cheque or card

· Daily bank reconciliations of both client and office accounts

· Bill processing including transfers  

· Monitor and address both client and office balances

· Processing and payment of the firm’s supplier invoices


4. Personal Specification

         

· Qualifications

Ideally ILFM qualified or in the process of obtaining


· Skills

A working knowledge of the Solicitors Accounts and Vat Rules

A high level of attention to detail

A good level of knowledge of financial systems & software, interpersonal skills including written and verbal communication abilities.


· Experience

· Recent practical experience of accounts administration in a legal environment

· Working knowledge of accounting principles

· Working knowledge of credit control
