Court & Tribunal Representation

The Court system itself has many layers to it including the Court of Appeal, the High Court, the Crown Court, the Magistrates' Court, and the County Courts. County Courts deal with civil jurisdiction and are presided over by a Circuit or District Judge and will usually act without a jury. County Courts usually have a jurisdiction over a geographical area local to where they are based. Civil claims under £5,000 are dealt with under the Small Claims Track. Those claims which can be dealt with in a day and are between £5,000 and £15,000 are allocated to the Fast Track. Those claims over £15,000 are allocated to the Multi Track system. The complexity of the case will also be taken into account. It is in the County Courts where the majority of civil cases will be heard.

Whether your case will be heard in a County Court or a Tribunal we will be there every step of the way to ensure you get a proper and appropriate representation. If necessary calling on additional expertise from specialist barristers.

Alternatively, if the best approach is seen to be mediation then we can pursue Alternative Dispute Resolution as a means of using dispute resolution techniques as a way of resolving differences. This can be employed in, for example, employment matters and in civil disputes between individuals or indeed individuals and firms. The use of mediation can mean a settlement is reached rather than having the need for a trial. Benefits can be both financial and personal and avoid any unnecessary publicity.
